Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling (ADCGC) Admission 2025 – NIPCCD Guwahati

The National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD), Guwahati, has opened its form for the Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling (ADCGC) 2025. The following sections provide details about the application form, admission process, and eligibility criteria.

About NIPCCD

The National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development was founded on 28th February 1966 for the social development of society. This institute also offers various training programmes for the students who are willing to contribute to society; among these various programmes Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling is also offered by the institute.

About the Diploma

NIPCCD started the ADCGC in 2005 as a 1-year full-time regular programme, designed and conducted by the institute and recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). It includes:

  • 10 months of coursework
  • 2 months of internship
  • Medium: English (for both coursework and fieldwork)
  • Affiliated University: Gauhati University

This course focuses on understanding the importance of child guidance and counseling with families in various settings. The medium of the coursework and the fieldwork is English.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must meet one of the following criteria to apply for the course:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work / Psychology / Child Development / Human Development/Community Resource Management / Development Communication and Extension / Nursing / Special Education from any recognized University 
  •  M.Ed. from any recognized University.
  •  Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, Human Development, Community Resource Management, Development Communication and Extension, Nursing, or Special Education from a recognized university, and must have at least 5 years of experience working with children.
  • Candidates must hold a B.Ed. from any recognized university and must have at least 4 years of experience working with children.
  •  The candidate must have opted for English (Elective / Core / Functional) at the 10+2 level or higher.
  • If the degree-awarding university does not specify the qualifying degree, then authorities will consider the aggregate of all subjects as the 50% eligibility requirement.

About the application form

  • Candidates can download the application forms from the official website or collect them in person from NIPCCD regional centres.
  • Candidates must pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹200 online
  • Deadline: 30th June 2025, by 5:30 PM

  • Aadhar Card/ Identity Proof
  • Passport-size photographs and a passport-size photograph with thumb impression.
  • Education Qualification related documents
  • Previous University Registration Certification
  • Migration Certificate (if available)
  • Experience Certificate (if applicable)

Admission Procedure

  • Applicants will get admission on the basis of the merit of the Written Entrance Test, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview, which will happen in offline mode at the NIPCCD regional center in Guwahati.
  • Candidates who are eligible for the Written Entrance Test will be informed by email, and the same will be displayed in the Notice Board of the Institute at the Regional Centre, Guwahati. Also, the date and time for the written entrance test will be communicated to eligible individual candidates through email.
  • Candidates who will be finalized for admission into the ADCGC session 2025 – 2026 will be informed by email, and the same will be displayed at the Notice Board of the Institute at the Regional Centre, Guwahati.
  •  All the students have to submit a Medical Certificate indicating fitness from a registered medical practitioner at the time of admission.

The Syllabus for the Written Entrance Exam includes the following topics:

  • General and social awareness
  • Problem-solving ability and logical thinking
  • English Language

Note – There is no negative marking in the written test.

Selection Process for Group Discussion and Personal Interview:

  • The University will call the top 60 candidates in the Written Entrance for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The date and time for both will be communicated through email.
  • Candidates can check the list of eligible candidates on the Institute’s Notice Board as well.
  • The University will assess the candidates on the basis of Subject knowledge, Initiative, Leadership, and Communication Skills.

Seat Allocation as per the norms of Guwahati University:

  • Schedule Caste – 2
  • Schedule Tribes (Plains) – 3
  • Schedule Tribes (Hills) – 1
  • OBC/MOBC – 4
  • Differently Abled – 1
  • EWS – 3
  • General/Unreserved – 11

Total Seats – 25

If any of the seats remain unfilled under any of the categories as mentioned above, then the particular unfilled category shall be filled from the overall merit list.

  • Date and Time of Written Entrance Exam: 8 July 2025
  • Date of Declaration of Written Test Result: 10th July 2025
  • Date and Time of Group Discussion and Personal Interview: 11th July 2025
  • Announcement of the Final list of Eligible candidates for admission: 15th July 2025
  •  Admission Dates:
    • First round: 16th to 22nd July 2025
    • Second round: 23rd to 29th July 2025
    • Third round: 30th July 30 – 5th August 2025
  •  Date for Commencement of classes: 18th August 2025.

Important Notes

  • After completion of course, security deposit will be refunded to students.
  • Admission is provisional until document verification.
  • Admission withdrawn within 15 days will be refunded after a 10% deduction.
  • Original and valid documents are required; failing to submit them may result in admission cancellation.
  • The first installment of course fees must be paid within the university’s stipulated timeline.

Q1. Could the number of seats for the ADCGC NIPCCD Guwahati 2025 be increased?

There are high chances that the seat intake at NIPCCD, Assam can increase from 25 to 50 seats per batch “IF” approval is given by RCI and Guwahati University by 30th June 2025.

Q2. Are candidates with awaited results eligible to apply for ADCGC NIPCCD Guwahati 2025?

Yes, candidates with awaited results can apply; however, they need to submit their clearance of the exam as per the eligibility criteria by October 2025. If the candidate fails to do so, their admission will be canceled

Q3. What RCI designation will candidates be eligible for upon successful completion of the course?

Once the candidate has completed the one-year diploma course, including the required training, assignment submission, and examination. After the results, if the trainee student passes, they can submit the required documents to NIPCCD and will receive an RCI license with a designation of Rehabilitation Counselor.

Q4. Is the course available in distance mode?

No, currently the ADCGC, NIPCCD Guwahati is conducted exclusively in offline mode only. Trainees are required to attend classes in person and complete all training, assignments, and examinations through offline participation.

Q5. What is the fee for the course?

The program fee is 56,000 (approximately) taken by the institute in two installments.
