Vacancy of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at NIMHANS

The vacancy is available for the post of “Senior Research Fellow” at NIMAHSN on a purely contractual basis for the project titled “Positive Mental Health for Applied Suicide Interventions and Enhancing Preventive Measures Programs: NIMHANS-Sikkim police personnel mental health “In-Step” Programme in this GOS funded project under Dr. Senthil Kumar Reddi V, Professor of Psychiatry and Principal Investigator, NIMHANS, Bengaluru – 560 029.

Currently, only one vacancy is available at NIMHANS for the post of SRF.

About NIMHANS

IMHANS is a world-renowned institute for mental health, neurosciences, and allied fields located in Bengaluru. It unites research and training in both Mental Health and Neurosciences. NIMHANS is an “Institute of National Importance”. It is a ‘Deemed University’ from 1994 by the government for its eminent academic growth and contributions. The Institute subsequently established a formal affiliation with the University of Mysore for all its academic programs. Afterward, the Institute entered into a formal partnership with Bangalore University in 1964. Bangalore University established a separate faculty of Mental Health and Neurosciences.

Essential Qualification

To be eligible for the post of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at NIMHANS, the candidate must clear M.Phil. Clinical Psychology recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) with relevant experience.

Desirable Qualification/Experience

The desirable qualifications needed for SRF Post are as follows:

  1. Qualification obtained from the Institute of Reputes
  2. Academic honors such as university Gold Medal, Grants, and Fellowship
  3. Clinical and/or research experience in telemedicine and/or Tele-training experience working with multidisciplinary research teams indexed scientific publications
  4. Fluency in Hindi

Works of the Post

The Responsibilities of the Post are as follows:

  1. Tele Training: Delivering the training, monitoring the progress of the program, developing lectures, coordinating with participants, conducting online classes, case discussions, developing SOPs, undertake and coordinate training, develop training materials, IEC Charts, booklets for training of trainers among police personnel to develop a strong resources base of skilled trainers
  2. Collaborative audio/video consultations when required
  3. Facilitating the development of mentoring and supervisory skills
  4. Data management and entry, research activities, sending emails, planning and collecting outcomes data
  5. Undertaking follow-along support
  6. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, videos, Google Drive, learning video software, learning blogs, etc.

Duration of the Post

The duration of the post of “Senior Research Fellow” at NIMHANS is 6 months (initial appointment is for 6 months, on the basis of the candidate’s performance it is likely to be enhanced further).

Emolument Details

The consolidated stipend for the hired candidates will be Rs.60,000/- per month at NIMHANS.

Age limit

For the post of “Senior Research Fellow” at NIMHANS, candidates must be 35 or under to be eligible.
